Broadway to the Rescue: A Benefit for the Homeless, featuring a host of artists re-creating some of Broadway's greatest hits, will be presented October 14 at the Montalban Theater in Hollywood. Show time is 7 PM.
Currently scheduled to perform are Tony winner Lillias White (The Life, Dreamgirls), Tony nominee John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical), Tony Award nominee Sharon McNight (Starmites), Barrett Foa (NCIS: LA, Avenue Q), Drama Desk Award winner Aaron Lazar (The Light in the Piazza), Paul Vogt (Hairspray, Chicago), J. Elaine Marcos (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Annie), Rhett George (Memphis, Aida), Krystal Joy Brown (Motown, Leap of Faith), Brooke Engen (Gypsy, Hairspray), Shannon Durig (Hairspray), Clent Bowers (Cats, Big), Jessica Snow Wilson (Les Misérables, Little Shop of Horrors), Carla Renata (Avenue Q, The Life, Smokey Joe's Cafe), Chris Trousdale (The Sound of Music, Les Misérables), DeeDee Magno Hall (Miss Saigon, If/The), Doug Kreeger (Les Misérables), Joseph Corella Sandler (All Shook Up), Lynette Dupree (Bring in ’Da Noise, Bring in ’Da Funk), and Tracy Miller (Hairspray, Dracula).
The evening will also include special appearances by Grammy nominee Lisa Loeb, The Office’s Kate Flannery, and Scot Robinson from The Lampshades. The talent lineup is subject to change.
Attendees can expect to hear tunes from Hairspray, Wicked, Les Misérables, The Book of Mormon, Waitress, Hair, and Jersey Boys. The evening will also include a silent auction and a champagne and dessert reception.
Tickets, which cost $20–$75, can be ordered here. Proceeds will go to Hope of the Valley, a rescue mission for the homeless in Los Angeles.
