Jewish Ensemble Theatre, the Actors' Equity troupe known as JET in Metro Detroit, finishes up its world premiere of Ian Strasfogel's The Caregiver May 30 at Aaron DeRoy Theatre in West Bloomfield, MI.
JET artistic director Evelyn Orbach directs New York veteran Sol Frieder, David Wolber and Kate Willinger in the new drama about an aging, addled symphony conductor, his son and a mysterious caregiver. Performances began April 28, opening was May 2.
Strasfogel has written specialty concert text, based on the lives of composers, performed by Tom Hulce, F. Murray Abraham and others, and his libretti for Icarus and Talking Heads, performed in Europe.
