In its 20th annual Out 100 issue, featuring photographs by JUCO, Out magazine commemorates the year's most influential and inspirational gays, lesbians and transgendered people.
Out Magazine will continue to reveal the 2014 Out 100 honorees through Nov. 18.
Kramer, whose landmark AIDS drama The Normal Heart received its long-awaited screen premiere on HBO earlier this year, was among the iconic artists to be celebrated. His novel "The American People," which he began writing in 1978 (3,000 pages and growing), is due out next year along with a two-hour HBO documentary on his life and work.
Groff and his "Looking" co-stars Murray Bartlett and Russell Tovey were acknowledged for TV Show Of The Year. The show's straight cast members, Raúl Castillo and Frankie J. Alvarez, did not make the LGBT-only Out 100 list, "but we love them anyway," the magazine said.
Also on the list are "Tales of the City" novelist Armistead Maupin, actor Richard Chamberlain, author/activist Dan Savage and "RuPaul's Drag Race" winner and comedian Bianca Del Rio. Playbill.com will continue to update as the names are revealed.
