News Kim Davies’ Stet Opens Tonight The Smoke playwright debuts her newest work Off-Broadway.

Abingdon Theatre Company’s production of Stet, by Smoke playwright Kim Davies, officially opens June 23 Off-Broadway. Directed by Tony Speciale, the new play examines the topic of sexual assault on college campuses.

Stet began previews June 11 at the June Havoc Theatre. The cast features Jack Fellows, Dea Julien (Intimacy), Jocelyn Kurtisky, Lexi Lapp and Bruce McKenzie (A Streetcar Named Desire).

In Stet a young journalist is assigned a story about sexual assault on college campuses. “During her investigation, she encounters a student with a horrific story to tell,” state production notes. “Determined to bring the events to light, this ambitious reporter refuses to let anything stop her—including the truth.”

The production features scenic design by Jo Winiarski, lighting design by Daisy Long, costume design by Hunter Kaczorowski, sound design by Christian Frederickson, projection design by Katherine Freer and casting by Karie Koppel. Production stage manager is Deidre Works. Emma Feiwel is associate producer.

Davies’ play Smoke premiered at The Flea Theater, where it received critical acclaim and extended three times.
