Keri Russell Says Broadway Is ‘Still Crazy To Me’ | Playbill

Video Keri Russell Says Broadway Is ‘Still Crazy To Me’ The Burn This star talks about her ultimate respect for theatre performers and her co-star Adam Driver.

Keri Russell took her Monday night off to stop by Late Night With Seth Meyers to talk about her Broadway debut in the revival of Lanford Wilson’s Burn This. Russell stars opposite Adam Driver, nominated for a Tony Award for the role, in the show that also features Brandon Uranowitz (also Tony nominated) and David Furr.

The experience has awed Russell at the stamina of theatre performers. “Who would do this?” she asked. “I'm sure musical theatre is much more fun, but to go and cry and get yelled at every night ... It's still crazy to me.

“I have immense respect for people who do it,” she added.

She also spoke about getting used to how audiences impact a show. “It really affects your performance. Sometimes you'll have a really loud drunk call that when Adam comes on they're like catcalling. Sometimes they're very thoughtful and listening, like a matinee crowd,” she said. Russell even told a story about a woman who yelled to them onstage.

We'll see what other reactions the limited engagement receives between now and its July 14 closing.
