The Kennedy Center's Broadway Center Stage series, which recently presented Sunset Boulevard starring Tony winner Stephanie J. Block, has canceled its upcoming production of the Tony-winning Kiss of the Spider Woman

The John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally musical was scheduled to play the Eisenhower Theater May 15-21. The decision follows conversations with the rights holders and future plans for the show.

“We wish circumstances were different for our loyal patrons and audiences; however, I look forward to announcing a new, exciting Broadway Center Stage production with an all-star cast in the coming days,” says Kennedy Center Vice President and Executive Producer of Theater, Jeffrey Finn, who also serves as the artistic director of Broadway Center Stage.

A replacement musical, which will be presented May 12-21, will be announced February 28.

Subscribers who purchased tickets to Kiss of the Spider Woman will have their tickets automatically transferred to the new production. Those who wish to make other arrangements can do so by calling (202) 416-8500.
