Three-time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson stopped by The Today Show to talk about getting involved with The Hamilton Mixtape and offered her rendition of Angelica Schuyler’s “It’s Quiet Uptown.”

“I was emailed the song at one in the morning, and I was pregnant with my little boy, and I had not seen Hamilton. So I'm a couple weeks away from having my boy, and this song was about a boy dying, and I was like, ‘Are you serious?’” said Clarkson. Still, the singer graced Today Show viewers with her emotional and touching rendition of the song by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The Hamilton Mixtape features pop stars singing their versions of songs from the Broadway phenomenon, including performances by Usher, Sia, Ashanti and Ja Rule, and more. The album hit shelves December 2.
