Nona Gerard was originally announced to direct John S. Anastasi's play that focuses on one member of a lesbian couple who decides to undergo gender reassignment surgery. A reason was not given for Gerard's departure from the drama. Cox has exited the play "due to increasing conflicts with the play’s October performance schedule," according to the show's rep. Roya Shanks joins the cast in her place.
