Tony nominee Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!) will lead the company of George Street Playhouse's upcoming run of Heidi Schreck's What the Constitution Means to Me, playing the New Jersey company beginning September 24 ahead of a September 27 opening night. Performances will continue through October 13.

Joining Baldwin in the cast will be Nick Rodriguez as the Legionnaire with Niara Beckwith and Wobirba Ekuba Sarpey as Debaters. Casting is by McCorkle Casting.

Schreck's play, which played a Broadway run in 2019 after earlier productions Off-Broadway and at Berkeley Repertory Theatre and Wild Project, explores the U.S. Constitution, both its successes and downfalls. Drawing on her time as a 15 year-old in a Constitutional debate contest, Schreck explores the document's effects on immigration, domestic abuse, women's rights, and more. A film of the Broadway production was released via Amazon Prime Video in 2020.

George Street's production, directed by Laiona Michelle, will feature scenic design by Shoko Kambara, costume design by Niiamar Felder, lighting design by Christopher Bailey, and sound design by Kwamina Biney. Samantha Flint will serve as production stage manager.

Tickets are now available at GeorgeStreetPlayhouse.org.
