Performer, comedian, and writer Justin Sayre will debut his new solo show Justin Sayre Makes the Case for America at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. The politically-charged show is Sayre's response to the question of what it means to be an American at this moment in history.

Inspired by the "Be-In" movement from the 1960s, Sayre's show is a topical blend of comedy and pathos presented in a cabaret of stories and songs.

Sayre is known his cabaret/variety act The Meeting, which continued for eight consecutive seasons in downtown New York. His theatre credits include Love’s Refrain (La MaMa), The Boy Sonata (Dixon Place and The Wild Project), and The Rite of Water: A Life of Hart Crane (The Pop-Up Museum of Queer History).

Performances at Joe's Pub are scheduled for September 29 at 7 PM and September 30 at 9:30 PM. All tickets are $25.
