News Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Screened at BAM Tonight The Brooklyn theatre is screening the acclaimed production helmed by the two-time Tony winner.

The Brooklyn Academy of Music is screening the filmed version of Julie Taymor’s acclaimed staging of A Midsummer Night’s Dream August 6. The production, starring Kathryn Hunter, David Harewood, Tina Benko and Max Casella, was staged at Theatre for a New Audience’s Polonsky Shakespeare Center in 2013.

The screening is at 2 PM in the Peter Jay Sharp Building BAM Rose Cinemas. The film features cinematography by Rodrigo Prieto (Argo, Frida) and music by Academy Award-winning composer Elliot Goldenthal.
