New Georges will bring Julia May Jonas' A Woman Among Women back in its 2025-2026 season, this time presented by Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3. Performances will begin May 16, 2026, in the Claire Tow Theatre.
The piece, originally developed by New Georges and The Bushwick Starr (who is partnering on this revival), centers on the founder of a Northampton, Massachusetts, women's wellness center as her community faces tragedy. Jonas wrote the work as a counterpoint to Arthur Miller's All My Sons.
Sarah Cameron Hughes will direct the "bold new iteration" (per press notes) after staging the world premiere for New Georges last year. Casting is to be announced.
The company's season, aimed at uplifting women and non-binary artists, also includes three productions via the In Collaboration With New Georges program. Iranian Girlfriend, written and directed by SB Tennent, will play MITU 580 September 18-October 4, a collaboration with Built4Collapse. Peggy Staford's Everything Is Here—directed by Meghan Finn and choreographed by Lisa Fagan—will perform December 3-20 at 59E59, a production of The Tank. And, Lizzie Olesker, Peggy Pettitt, and Louise Smith's Language of Dolls will perform in 2026 at multiple venues, with further details to be announced.
The company's Big Benefit 2025 is planned for September 29 at elNico in Brooklyn's Penny Hotel.
