Batt plays George in the revival of Gill’s play about a farmhand who falls in love with a young director (Bailey) in a small U.K. working-class town in the early 1960s. According to the Donmar, “Peter Gill’s influential play about two young men in love is a touching reflection on the rival forces of family, class and longing.”

The York Realist is designed by Peter McKintosh, with lighting design by Paul Pyant, sound design by Emma Laxton, and music by Richard Taylor.
