Directed by Michelle Tattenbaum (Nobody Loves You at Second Stage), Nuyorican Poets Café allows audience members to grab a drink with Danny and Roberta and experience the play "up closer and more personal than ever before."

Michael Micalizzi stars as Danny opposite Nairoby Otero as Roberta.

Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, according to press notes, "finds its title character, Danny — a trucker known as 'The Beast,' and Roberta — a divorced mother of a teenage son who lives with her parents, striking up a haltingly bitter conversation about the demons that unite and divide them. As their reserve begins to fade, they find an exorcism and forgiveness that, while painful, offers the hope of a future touched."

Performances are offered Oct. 7-10, Oct. 20 and Oct. 22-24 at 7 PM.

Nuyorican Poets Café is located at 236 E. 3rd Street. For more information and tickets, click here.
