The Landing began previews Oct. 3 prior to an official opening Oct. 23.
The collaboration between Kander (Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Scottsboro Boys) and playwright/lyricist Greg Pierce had originally been scheduled to run through Nov. 10 but will now continue through Nov. 24.
The Landing features three mini-musicals tied together by the themes of desire, love and loss.
Directed by Walter Bobbie, the cast also features Paul Anthony Stewart and Frankie Seratch.
Pierce recently starred on Broadway in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. His stage credits also include La Bete, Accent on Youth, Curtains and Spamalot. Murney has performed in Falling, Lennon, The Wild Party and Wicked. Stewart's stage credits include The People in the Picture, Fiddler on the Roof and Cyrano.
The production has set design by two-time Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty (The Nance, Talley's Folly), lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington (Chicago, The Scottsboro Boys), costume design by Michael Krass (The Lyons, Twelve Angry Men) and sound design by Nevin Steinberg (Cinderella, Hair). David Loud (The Scottsboro Boys, Curtains) is music director, orchestrations are by Larry Hochman and Paul Masse is conductor.
