News James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella Will Reprise Their "Lion King" Roles in Movie Sequel James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella are set to reprise their voice roles as Mufasa and Pumbaa, respectively, in the new Disney Channel movie "The Lion Guard." A special preview of "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" will presented at Disney's D23 Expo Aug. 16.

"The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" is a continuation of Disney's "The Lion King". The movie will serve as a precursor to the new Disney Channel series "The Lion Guard," which tells the story of Simba and Nala's second-born cub, Kion. Kion is the leader of The Lion Guard, a diverse team of animals who are tasked with preserving the Pride Lands.

James Earl Jones, who was most recently seen on Broadway in You Can't Take It With You, will reprise his role as Mufasa, Simba's father and Kion's grandfather. Jones will be making his Broadway return Sep. 24 in Donald L. Coburn's The Gin Game.

Ernie Sabella, who was most recently seen on Broadway in Curtains, will reprise his role as Pumbaa the warthog, one of Simba's two best friends.

The voice cast for "The Lion Guard" also includes Rob Lowe, Gabrielle Union, Max Charles, Atticus Shaffer, Sarah Hyland, Eden Riegel, Madison Pettis, Jeff Bennett, Andrew Kishino, Vargus Mason, Greg Ellis, Khary Payton, and Kevin Schon.

"The Lion Guard" will officially premiere in November 2015 on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
