News Is Sally Field Headed Back to Broadway? Fun Home's Sam Gold may direct the Oscar-winning actress.
Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field is scheduled to return to Broadway in the fall in a revival of the Tennessee Williams family drama The Glass Menagerie, according to showbiz411.com.

This would mark the eighth Broadway production of the 1945 classic.

Field previously played the role of Southern matriarch Amanda Wingfield in 2004 for the Kennedy Center, where she was directed by Gregory Mosher. Tony-winning Fun Home director Sam Gold may helm the upcoming revival.

Sally Field made her Broadway debut in the replacement cast of The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? She won Academy Awards for her performances in Norma Rae and Places in the Heart.

The most recent Broadway production of Glass Menagerie featured Cherry Jones and Zachary Quinto and was nominated for seven 2014 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Play. Lighting designer Natasha Katz won a Tony for that production, which was directed by John Tiffany.
