According to the website, Academy Award nominee Griffith stated, "I'm going to do Pippin on Broadway in January. It's not about my career now. It's just about finding great work and having a good time."
Griffith has an impressive list of stage and screen credits, including playing Roxie Hart in Broadway's Chicago, starring in the films "Nobody’s Fool," "Another Day in Paradise" and "Celebrity," as well as numerous television appearances.
Pippin has a book by Roger O. Hirson and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and features direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus, choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (7 Fingers).
