Free and open to the public, the Barn Series provides Labyrinth playwrights "the vital opportunity to hear their latest works out loud and in front of an audience while still being deeply engaged in the delicate process of shaping and refining these dynamic new plays," according to press notes.
The series will also include works from Labyrinth co-artistic director Stephen Adly Guirgis (The Motherf**ker With the Hat) and company members Lyle Kessler (Orphans) and John Patrick Shanley (Doubt).
Feiffer's I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard, scheduled to begin at 8 PM, features Reed Birney (Gemini), Justin Reinsilber and Katherine Waterston.
Here's how the work is described: "Ella is a precocious and fiercely competitive actress whose sole aim in life is making her famous playwright father proud — that is, aside from getting famous herself. When Ella’s father finally hurts her so badly that she refuses to crawl back to him, she flings herself into the arms of a brilliant young director with whom she begins to collaborate on a one-woman show… about her father."
Tickets are released on a first-come, first-served basis one hour before each reading. The Bank Street Theater is located at 155 Bank Street. Labyrinth's Labpass holders can make advanced reservations by calling the box office at (212) 513-1080.
