News HIV Organization HERO Honors Actors Fund, Jerry Mitchell and Stephen Hanna Tonight HIV Experience Resources Organization (HERO) presents Broadway and Ballet, The HERO Awards – an evening to honor the Actors Fund’s HIV/AIDS Initiative, Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell and ballet star Stephen Hanna – Oct. 19 at 8 PM at 42 West (516 W. 42nd Street).

The evening benefits HERO, a charitable organization that helps newly diagnosed and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Jonathan D. Lovitz serves as emcee for the event.

According to press notes, "The awards are given to those organizations and individuals who have gone above and beyond to help the HIV/AIDS community. The event will screen short tribute videos highlighting the accomplishments of the honorees and organizations, and feature many stellar performances by Broadway and the ballet world’s finest."

Lineup for the performances includes Michael Leon Wooley (Little Shop of Horrors, American Buffalo, The Music Man), Stephen Hanna (On The Town, Billy Elliot), Michael Cusumano (All Shook Up, Chicago, American in Paris), Patrick Boyd (Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Gypsy, Touch: A Love Story), Tobin Eason (The Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet Theatre), top 20 recording artist Kelly King, Sean Michael Murray (American Idiot), Sean Stewart (American Ballet Theatre), Alina Fay (American Ballet Theatre alumni), Marty Thomas (Wicked, The Secret Garden, Xanadu), Marissa Rosen (My Big Gay Italian Wedding) and Russell Brown.

The event also features "one-of-a-kind dance performances," with appearances by dancers from Nimbus Dance Works, Project: Smith, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, ZviDance and others.

Attendance is $20 for general admission and $100 for limited premium seating.
