The fifth annual evening of song and culinary treats from some of New York's finest eateries will boast the talents of Rent Tony winner Heredia and Tony nominee Fuller (Cabaret, The Dinner Party) as well as Myra Lucretia Taylor (Nine, Electra) and Anthony Mackie (A Soldier's Play). Chefs who will lend their culinary skills to the evening include Chef Jason Avery (Pera Mediterranean Brasserie), Chef David DeCarlo (Angus McIndoe), Chef Alexandra Guarnischelli (Butter), Chef Michael Hu (Hana Pastries), Chef Jehangir Mehta (Graffiti), Chef Nancy Olson (Gramercy Tavern) and Chef Shannon Pacifico (Black Forty).
The 7 PM gala will take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Culinary author and editor Judith Jones ("The Art of Simple Food") will be feted during the evening that will also include silent and live auctions in addition to samplings of wines and specialty cocktails.
Launched in 1999 by Kate Loewald, Jack Temchin and Mike Ockrent, The Play Company is a New York City not-for-profit theatre that develops and produces adventurous new plays from the U.S. and abroad. The Play Company was honored with an OBIE Theatre Award grant in 2007.
