Industry veteran Sean Cercone has launched a new boutique theatrical licensing imprint.

Called The Licensing House (TLH), the imprint is the newest offering from Cercone, the founder and former CEO of Broadway Licensing Global and Broadway On Demand. In his previous positions, Cercone oversaw a portfolio that included Dramatists Play Service, Playscripts, Stage Rights, and Stageworks Productions, and guided the licensing of more than 24,000 productions annually in collaboration with over 2,800 authors and 8,000 titles. His work has encompassed renowned authors including Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, and Lynn Nottage and properties ranging from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to Clue, comprising a catalog with 40 Tony and 48 Pulitzer Prize–winning works.

With The Licensing House, Cercone is channeling his large-scale expertise into a focused, high-touch model that prioritizes deep, long-term strategy for a curated roster of titles. It will also have a theatre education subsidiary called Dramallama.

“After years of building and leading large global catalogs, I wanted to create a home where each show receives the kind of bespoke attention and long-range planning it truly deserves,” said Cercone. “The Licensing House is intentionally selective. Our job is to fiercely protect the work, amplify its reach, and architect smart, sustainable strategies so these stories can live on more stages, in more communities, for many years to come.”

The imprint's inaugural slate includes licensing rights to Harmony: A New Musical by Bruce Sussman and Barry Manilow, Stranger Sings: The Musical Parody, Camp Kappawana: The Musical, and a growing collection of new plays and musicals.

In addition to his licensing leadership, Cercone has co-authored Elvis: The Musical, Saturday Night Fever, and Beatbugs, based on the Netflix animated series.

In addition to Cercone, the leadership team for TLH includes David Abbinanti, Vice President of Content and Scott Prisand, Vice President of Business Development. TLH has also partnered with The Kaufer Group (Zach Kaufer) to head global distribution strategies tailored to each creative teams specific vision.

“I’ve been fortunate to see how powerful the right licensing team can be for a show’s life,” Cercone added. “With these seasoned industry professionals on our leadership team, The Licensing House will work hand in hand with authors and rights holders to think holistically about professional, international, amateur, and educational markets, building a long-term roadmap instead of just processing paperwork.”
