The show had broken house records at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre during Mraz’s stint as Dr. Pomatter, grossing the most in the week ending January 28 with $1.6 million. Expect the musical to maintain solid numbers for some time, as Tony- and Grammy-nominated composer Sara Bareilles continues in the role of Jenna through March 11.
Following a widespread dip, six shows managed to see a week-over-week uptick. Most drastic was Hamilton, claiming the top spot at $3,062,978 (an increase of over $273,000 from the week before). It was one of four shows to play to over 100 percent capacity in the winter week, joining Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, and The Book of Mormon.
