A familiar face and a stage favorite started their new Broadway shifts this past week as Sara Bareilles and Gavin Creel began performances in Waitress together January 7. Bareilles, who earned Tony and Grammy nominations for the show's score, and Gavin Creel—following a Tony-winning turn in Hello, Dolly!—helped give the show a boost at the box office.
The musical grossed $972,520—up over $400,000 from the week before—in eight performances. It celebrates its third anniversary on Broadway this spring.

Meanwhile, The Lifespan of a Fact ended its run at Studio 54 January 13, grossing just over $1 million in its final week, having previously done so the final week of 2018. Other shows to reach seven figures included fall arrivals Network (which played seven performances), The Cher Show, and To Kill a Mockingbird. And, as Hamilton dominated headlines with its arrival in Puerto Rico, the blockbuster also led the box-office charts, leading the pack with $3,157,730.
