Last week on Broadway, receipts soared to $28.8 million with attendance holding strong at 84.8%, and new productions The Music Man, MJ, Plaza Suite, Funny Girl, and more each breaking $1 million at the box office.
David Byrne's American Utopia, which played its final performance April 3, got a $1.3 million send-off, a more-than 10% bump from the week prior.
As for long-running productions, Hamilton, Wicked, and The Lion King again dominated the list, along with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, whose newly shortened edition pulled in $1.4 million. This season's Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster-led The Music Man revival remained the highest grosser of the week, taking in $3.3 million.
