Playing the role of Adam Munson, the son of Margo Hughes and Hal Munson, is not expected to keep Cavenaugh from appearing nightly at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Shot in Brooklyn studios, the CBS soap has, over the years, boasted many theatre actors who do day soap work and night theatre gigs (exhausting though that may be). Larry Bryggman, Ellen Dolan, Tovah Feldshuh, Tamara Tunie, Scott Holmes, Kathleen Widdoes, Michael Park and more have done double duty on stage and on "ATWT."
Cavenaugh replaces Matthew J. Morrison (Hairspray) in the soap. Morrison's last appearance will be Nov. 27. Cavenaugh played gay college kid Mark Solomon on "One Life to Live" from 2004 to 2005.
In Grey Gardens, Cavenaugh plays two ends of the spectrum of the American dream — Kennedy scion and eligible bachelor in Act One, and a slacker Long Islander named Jerry in Act Two.
According to TVGuide.com, Cavenaugh's first "ATWT" appearance is Nov. 29.
Cavenaugh starred in the Broadway musical Urban Cowboy.
