The world premiere of SUFFS is set to begin performances at The Public Theater March 13 ahead of an opening night scheduled for April 6.
Directed by Leigh Silverman, the new musical has a book, music, and lyrics by Public Theater Artist-in-Residence Shaina Taub. Taub will also appear in the production alongside Jenna Bainbridge, Ally Bonino, Tsilala Brock, Jenn Colella, Hannah Cruz, Nadia Dandashi, Aisha de Haas, Stephanie Everett, Amina Faye, Holly Gould, Cassondra James, Nikki M. James, Jaygee Macapugay, Grace McLean, Susan Oliveras, Mia Pak, Liz Pearce, Monica Tulia Ramirez, J. Riley Jr., Phillipa Soo, Angela Travino, Ada Westfall, and Aurelia Williams.

SUFFS explores the American women's suffrage movement by examining forgotten women who worked against divides and oppression in the years leading up to the Nineteenth Amendment through their victories and failures.
The production will feature music direction and supervision by Andrea Grody and choreography by Raja Feather Kelly.
The creative team includes scenic designer Mimi Lien, costume designer Toni-Leslie James, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Sun Hee Kil, sound effects designer Daniel Kluger, hair, wigs, and makeup designer Matthew Armentrout, dramaturg Ayanna Thompson, production stage manager Melanie J. Libby, and stage managers Amber Johnson and Jessie Moore. Orchestrations will be by Mike Brun, and prop management will be by Corine Gologursky. Choreographer Kelly is also the creative consultant.
