American Girl Live, the musical inspired by the popular dolls, officially opens its national tour December 21 in Skokie, Illinois.

Written by Sandy Rustin and directed by Gina Rattan, the musical tells the story of “bravery and friendship for some new friends during an exciting summer away at sleepover camp,” according to press notes. The production stars Laila E. Drew, Shelby Miguel, Orissa Gutierrez, Monica Poston, Kelsey Pressnall, Mari Skoultchi, Ashley Diane and Jenna Bruce.
