Oscar nominee June Squibb returned to the Broadway stage November 19 in Waitress. She takes on the role of Josie—the role previously presented as Joe—becoming the first woman to play the diner owner.

Squibb is scheduled to play a limited engagement through January 6, 2019, succeeding Today Show favorite Al Roker. Meanwhile, current star Nicolette Robinson has extended her stint as Jenna through December 9.

Squibb, an Oscar nominee for Nebraska, made her Broadway debut in the original production of Gypsy, stepping into the musical as Electra. Her additional stage credits include The Happy Time, Gorey Stories, and Sacrilege. She is additionally known for her numerous appearances on the small screen, including Modern Family, Shameless, Getting On, and Glee.

The current cast of Waitress also includes Drew Gehling as Dr. Pomatter, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Becky, Lenne Klingaman as Dawn, Alex Wyse as Ogie, Ben Thompson as Earl, and Benny Elledge as Cal.
