The new season also features a debut opera by Once writer Enda Walsh as well as a circus that will take place in a spaceship tent under the Brooklyn Bridge.
St. Ann's, which presents critically acclaimed theatrical productions from around the world, is on the cusp of opening its new home: a 25,000 square foot theatre on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The Donmar Warehouse production of
Henry IV, by William Shakespeare
Directed by Phyllida Lloyd
Nov. 6 – Dec. 6
London's Donmar Warehouse returns following the 2013 all-female production of Julius Caesar, also directed by Lloyd. In the same vein, the company presents an all-woman cast, led by Harriet Walter, for Henry IV. Set against the backdrop of women in prison, the production ignites important conversations about gender and equality.

The Last Hotel; A New Opera by Donnacha Dennehy and Enda Walsh

Co-presented with PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now (Toxic Psalms) and Irish Arts Center, The Last Hotel is Walsh's first opera. According to press notes, the opera begins with a man silently mopping the floor with a bucket full of bloody water, preparing for the next guest. Three people nervously meet in the parking lot. "There will be a death."

Internationally acclaimed actor Rylance returns to Brooklyn in a play he has co-written with Louis Jenkins based on Jenkins' book of poems of the same name. The production, which premiered at the Guthrie Theater, reflects the wry, surreal quality of the poetic work, set at the end of the fishing season on a lake in frozen Minnesota. There, two men search for answers to life's biggest questions.
