"Tom and I forged a fruitful partnership based on mutual respect and shared goals for Geva. It has resulted in my being able to focus deeply into Geva’s artistic work and strategic plan. We can be proud of what we did together, and I will miss his intellect and drive," commented Cuddy in a press statement.
Parrish joined Cuddy in leading the Geva Theatre in 2011. Since their joint leadership, the theatre has improved its financial position, grown and diversified contributed revenue, built the company’s local and national reputation, nearly completed its $10 million capital and endowment campaign, acquired new artist housing and renovated large portions of its historic building. During this time, Geva has staged six world premiere productions.
"Parrish has demonstrated himself to be a true asset to Geva Theatre Center, working tirelessly to improve and strengthen the organization. He has ushered Geva into a new and exciting era," commented Joanna Grosodonia, chair of Geva’s board of trustees.
"It has been an honor and a privilege to co-lead Geva these past nearly five years," said Parrish. "This was not an easy decision, but for both personal and professional reasons, it was simply an opportunity I could not refuse. It gave me great encouragement to know that Geva is in a better position both artistically and financially to make this change."
Founded in 1972, Geva Theatre Center is a not-for-profit, professional theatre company and Rochester's leading theatre organization, serving up to 160,000 patrons annually. For more information visit GevaTheatre.
