The musical adaptation of Tootsie, featuring a score by The Band’s Visit Tony winner David Yazbek and book by Robert Horn, is set to begin performances on Broadway March 29, 2019, at the Marquis Theatre. The production, directed by Scott Ellis and choreographed by Denis Jones, will officially open April 23.
Tony nominee Santino Fontana leads the cast as Michael Dorsey, a struggling actor who lands a job under the female persona of Dorothy Michaels. The cast also includes Lilli Cooper as Julie Nichols, Sarah Stiles as Sandy Lester, John Behlmann as Max Von Horn, Andy Grotelueschen as Jeff Slater, Julie Halston as Rita Marshall, Michael McGrath as Stan Fields, and Reg Rogers as Ron Carlisle.

The production, which premiered in Chicago earlier this year, features orchestrations by Simon Hale, sets by David Rockwell, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by Brian Ronan, hair and wig design by Paul Huntley, and make-up design by Angelina Avallone.
