A Kidman Carol: A Gay Dementia on Australian Dames begins performances Off-Broadway December 17, and Playbill has an up close and personal look at the production. Kevin Zak's celebrity-satire take on A Christmas Carol will play Theater 511 through December 21.
Marla Mindelle (Titanìque) and Josh Sharpe (ta-da) star as Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett, respectively, in story that sees Blanchett being visited by three different spirits of Kidman in order to learn the true meaning of Awards Season. The chaotic farce also sends up Tár, The Hours, Carol, The Lord of The Rings, The Undoing, To Die For, The Others, Notes on a Scandal, Blue Jasmine, Big Little Lies, and much more from the Kidman-Blanchett canon.
The cast also includes Renée Albulario, Robi Hager, and Phillip Taratula.
The production features costume design by Wilberth Gonzalez and wig design by Krystal Balleza and Will Vicari. Envoy Theatricals/Samuel Dallas serves as general manager, Alex Dash serves as company manager, and Ryan Gohsman serves as production stage manager, with Gracie Carleton as deck stage manager.
