Peabody Award-winning composer Matthew Puckett will release a recording of "671,000,000 MPH" from his new musical Rebel Genius February 7. Get a first listen to the song, featuring Newsies and Bandstand star Corey Cott, in a music video above.
With a book and score by Puckett, Rebel Genius tells the story of the early life of Albert Einstein and his first wife, Mileva Marić. A finalist for the 2017 Jonathan Larson Grant, the work has been presented both at New York City’s Atlantic Theater Company and Los Angeles’ IAMA Theater Company. UCLA staged a full production in March 2019, and the work received a staged reading via ASCAP New Musical Theatre Workshop later that same year.
