Regional News George Street Playhouse Finds Its Gene and Gilda

The new play centers on the relationship between screen actors Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner.

New Jersey's George Street Playhouse has found full casting for their upcoming run of Cary Gitter's Gene & Gilda, about the relationship between film icons Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner. The production will begin previews December 3 ahead of a December 6 opening night, with a limited run continuing through December 22.

Jordan Kai Burnett and Jonathan Randell Silver will both reprise their performances as Gilda Radner and Gene Wilder, respectively, from the play's world premiere run at Penguin Rep Theater.

Joe Brancato is directing the production, which will feature scenic design by Christian Fleming, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jose Santiago, sound design by Max Silverman, wig design by Bobbie Zlotnik, and dance consulting by Ryan Kasprzak. Samantha Flint will be production stage manager.

Gitter's play follows the Young Frankenstein and SNL stars' life together, from their first meeting to dramatic career ups and downs, and to a tragically early farewell.
