Martin Dockery’s The Stakeout will arrive at Off-Broadway's SoHo Playhouse November 25 as part of the International Fringe Encore Series. Selected from shows at 15 international fringe festivals, the two-person play will play a total of eight performances.
Dockery stars in his play alongside Andrew Broaddus as two men on a stakeout watching two other men who are on a stakeout of Dockery's and Broaddus' characters. Within the themes of isolation, the show explores the repercussions following family trauma in a mix of comedy and drama.
Performances will be held November 25-27 and 29, with another set of performances to be held December 21-23 and 26. Vanessa Quesnelle directs the production which was discovered at Edmonton Fringe.
Prior to its Off-Broadway run, the show has toured the North American fringe festival circuit, including sold-out runs in the Canadian cities of Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton. The International Fringe Encore Series supports opportunities for artists and shows at international fringe festivals. As one of the selected shows, The Stakeout will be reviewed for consideration for the series' Outstanding Production award which includes another Off-Broadway run in 2023.
