LOS ANGELES -- The performing arts space at the John Anson Ford Theatre has changed its name to Inside at the Ford, and is now seeking theatre groups to rent the facility at subsidized rates.
Previously, the Mark Taper Forum dubbed this space "the Taper, Too," using it for workshops and small productions.
Now all that has changed, because the Taper has moved its smaller activities, including public workshops and readings, to the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, leaving the Ford space available for other uses.
The facility, located across the Hollywood Freeway from the Hollywood Bowl, has 87 seats, and has been outfitted with a new lighting grid and an indoor lobby.
The Los Angeles County-owned facility will be offering the space at the relatively-modest rate of $750 a week. Applicants should have budgets between $50,000 and $800,000 annually to qualify, and the savings from the subsidized rentals is expected to be used for paying performers additional money.
