Fishburne took home the prize for Best Lead Male-Equity for Without Walls at the Feb. 19 ceremony. Valarie Pettiford ("Stomp the Yard") won Best Lead Female-Local for The Wild Party.

Rodney Chaise Williams won Best Lead Male-Local for Strange Fruit On Rye. Erica Tazel won Best Lead Female-Equity for I Have Before Me A Remarkable Document Given To Me By A Young Lady From Rwanda.

Jason C. White won Best Playwright-Local for The Dance: The History Of American Minstrelsy, which is getting its New York premiere Feb. 22-March 3 at the Richmond Shepard Theatre. Trey Anthony took home Best Playwright-Equity for Da Kink In My Hair.

Best Producer-Equity went to Tom Parrish and San Diego Repertory Theatre for Intimate Apparel, and Best Producer-Local went to Stacy Reed, Eddie Mills, Noah Wyle and The Blank Theatre for The Wild Party.

As previously announced, George C. Wolfe, the Tony-winning director and former producer of the Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Usher (Billy Flynn in Broadway's Chicago) received the Spirit Award. The event was hosted by Chandra Wilson ("Grey's Anatomy," Caroline, or Change) and Steve Harris ("The Practice").
