"This energetic, music-filled take on Elton John's greatest hits," press notes state, "follows Bennie, a 17-year-old pop phenom who trades in Hollywood fame, a movie star boyfriend, and her outrageous diva agent Crystal Shine for the simple life at a Wisconsin high school, where she learns who she really is."
The creative team also includes set designer Dean Shibuya, costume designer Jessica Peter, choreographer Christine Mattison and music director Jane Hammett with musical arrangements and piano accompaniment by Robert Rutt.
In addition to his numerous pop hits, Elton John has also composed the scores for Broadway's The Lion King, Aida and the forthcoming Billy Elliot — The Musical. The Zeum Theater is located at Yerba Buena Gardens (Fourth and Howard Streets) in San Francisco, CA. Tickets, priced $15.50–$20.50, are available by calling (415) 749-2228 or by visiting www.act-sf.org.
