Diamond, best known for playing Screech on the 1990's television series "Saved By the Bell," began performances May 21 and was originally scheduled to exit June 26.
Awesome 80's Prom creator and director Ken Davenport previously told Playbill.com that he re-adapted the script to feature Diamond (who plays himself) for the engagement.
Now in its fifth year, the immersive theatrical experience features characters made popular in 1980's films, all of whom compete for Prom King and Queen. During the evening, the audience gets to mingle, party and dance with the cast and ultimately vote for the winning prom couple.
