News Dolly Parton Will Open Dinner Theatre in May Dolly Parton, who wrote the score for the Broadway musical 9 to 5, has purchased a dinner theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN, according to tasteofcountry.com.

Now titled Dolly Parton's Lumberjack Adventure Dinner & Show, the venue is scheduled to open in May.

In a statement the singing actress said, "I’m truly excited to be working on a new show for families to enjoy while they are in town… We did a lot of work to come up with the name of the new show and I think we found the perfect fit."

Dollywood, the theme park owned by the award-winning entertainer, is located near the restaurant.

The NBC movie "Coat of Many Colors," about Parton's early life, was a big hit for the network. The second of three NBC programs celebrating Parton's life and work will be based on one of her early hits, "Jolene."
