News Diversity Wins Big at 2016 Barrymore Awards The awards honor excellence in Philadelphia theatre.

Diversity was the watchword of the 2016 Barrymore Awards, which honor excellence in Philadelphia theatre. The awards were given October 24 at the Merriam Theater.

Theatre Exile was awarded Outstanding Overall Production of a Play for The Invisible Hand, which took home a total of five awards, also including Outstanding Leading Actor in a Play to Maboud Ebrahimzadeh.

Arden Theatre won Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical for The Secret Garden.

The F. Otto Haas Award for an emerging Philadelphia Theatre artist went to Bi Jean Ngo, founding member of Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists.

A new award, the Victory Foundation Award for Outstanding Education Program, went to 1812 Outreach (1812 Productions).
