Presented Feb. 2-20, 2015, at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch in Wyoming, the retreat is overseen by artistic director Philip Himberg and producing director Christopher Hibma. In addition to Akhtar (Disgraced, The Invisible Hand) and Davis (Southern Comfort), the retreat will host playwright Mallery Avidon (Mary-Kate Olsen is in Love), playwright Samantha Chanse (Fruiting Bodies), playwright Fernanda Coppel (Chimichangas and Zoloft), composer Nikos Tsakalakos (Alexander Supertramp) and playwright Pia Wilson (Generation T).
"Our Playwrights and Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation provides a rare opportunity for theatre artists to put pen to paper, with access to a Sundance Institute dramaturg who can respond to work at an early stage. These impressive and inspiring artists will both contribute to and benefit from the environment of peer mentorship, professional growth, and unfettered, unpressured creativity," Himberg said in a statement.
