Carroll, who played Feinstein's in April 2006, has titled her new show Both Sides Now. The concerts, according to press notes, will feature "songs and stories from [Carroll's] legendary career." Show times are Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8:30 PM.
Diahann Carroll, who made her Broadway debut in House of Flowers, won a Tony Award for her work in No Strings. Carroll has a long string of "firsts" associated with her career: She was the first African-American actress to have her own TV series ("Julia"), the first black cast member of "Dynasty" and the first black actress to play Norma Desmond (she starred in the Canadian production of Sunset Boulevard). The actress/singer has also starred in several feature films, including "Claudine," for which she received an Academy Award nomination.
Feinstein's at the Regency is located in Manhattan at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street. There is a $75 cover charge and a $40 minimum for all shows; call (212) 339-4095 for reservations.
