Desert TheatreWorks in Indio, California has announced that it is producing Legally Blonde: The Musical. The show, based on the hit film, will run at the community theatre January 17–February 9, 2025.

The show will star Cydney Taylor Krone in the lead role of Elle Woods. The cast will also include Jana Giboney, Taylor Burns, Tamra Harkley, Georgina Medina, Phylicia Mason, and Jim Rogers. Desert TheatreWorks' Artistic Director Lance Phillips will be directing.

Said Krone in a statement: "I always identified with Elle Woods, feeling like I was capable of more but no one saw that, feeling like no one took me seriously because of my bubbly personality. And then everything changed. With persistence, hard work, believing in yourself, and never giving up, a lot can happen—Harry McEnerny from Castleton University and Lance and Ron Phillips from Desert Theatreworks were the pivotal game changers in my journey to being a girl that no one ever took seriously to being in the spotlight. I am so grateful to be playing my dream role at the theatre where my professional journey in the theatre space began."

Legally Blonde is written by Laurence O'Keefe, Nell Benjamin, and Heather Hach; and based on the novel and 2001 film of the same name. It first ran on Broadway in 2007.

Desert TheatreWorks has been producing theatre since 2013 in Southern California. Its current season includes The Wild Women of Winedale (October 18–November 3), Jersey Boys (November 8–December 1), Nuncrackers (December 6–29), The Odd Couple (Female Version) (February 14–March 2), Tootsie (March 7–30), and The Diary Of Anne Frank (April 4–13).
