Tony winner David Yazbek has announced his return to 54 Below, one of the most popular cabaret venues in New York City. Yazbek will present two new shows this May at the venue: Dead Outlaw, his newest musical with collaborator Erik Della Penna, and a concert featuring his band The Bludgeoneers, with Tony winner (and A Band's Visit star) Katrina Lenk making a guest appearance.

Dead Outlaw, set for May 2 at 7 PM, explores the life and death of Elmer McCurdy, a turn-of-the-century criminal who became a mummified sideshow attraction before the television show The Six-Million Dollar Man unravelled the wrappings of his mysterious life after death. Featuring music by Yazbek and his friend and bandmate Erik Della Penna, the work is currently being developed for the stage with Yazbek's The Band's Visit collaborators Itamar Moses and David Cromer. The 54 Below concert will present a song cycle variation of the material.

Following May 16 at 7 PM, Yazbek and his band The Bludgeoneers will be joined by Lenk for a special concert, combining material from their previous work, Yazbek's Broadway musicals, and their upcoming album.
