The revue, according to press notes, "takes a funny, exuberant look at the lives of women as reflected in music through the years. . . . The production chronicles the lives of women throughout the 20th century, as played out against the songs they were listening to during various periods in their lives."
Jim Vukovich is musical director; Lee Martino choreographs. Scenic design is by Victoria Profitt with costumes by Ivy Thaide.
In a statement librettist Marcic said, "In creating Respect, I used popular music to reveal how women have evolved throughout the 20th century. Because Respect is a show filled with music and humor, it has had tremendous reactions from all ages and genders – even men love this show!" The production has been seen in more than a dozen U.S. cities, in addition to Australia, South Africa, England, Holland and Israel.
