During the summertime, London is a playground of fun and frivolity. From seeing shows in West End, to exploring the numerous museums/historical sites, green parks, and the fun neighborhoods of this iconic city, I have some great friends who can recommend places to see and things to do if you are in town!
Thanks to Playbill and the Playbill Partner Hotels Booking Engine, I would like to introduce you to the cast of The Diana Mixtape—brought to you by the creator and producer of Death Drop, Cool Rider and Gals Aloud. This high-octane, royal romp that features award winning actors and RuPaul’s Drag Race icons, is a love letter to Princess Diana and her legacy as one of the most celebrated and adored figures in history. Combining their love of theatre, London and all-things summer, here are the Dianas recommendations!
Courtney Act (“Diana”)
“This summer in London, I’m performing in The Diana Mixtape at HERE at Outernet - it’s camp, chaotic, and royally irreverent. And yes, I play Princess Diana, well, one of five Dianas, alongside Kitty Scott-Claus, Priyanka, Rosé, and Divina De Campo. On my days off, nothing beats a picnic in London Fields with friends, soaking up the queer East London energy. I feel the opposite of pride, ashamed and slightly less gay, when I admit I’ve never been to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. But that’s about to change. I got tickets to see the divine Myra DuBois this past Sunday! The Royal Vauxhall Tavern is an institution, and I’m proud of my initiation.”
Divina De Campo (“Diana”)
“There is so much to do in London over the summer! My favorite thing to do in London is visit Tower Bridge and walk across the River Thames to take in all the sights. I also love to visit Soho and all the hustle and bustle of the area—there’s so much going on! And obviously, my favourite thing to do is see The Diana Mixtape at Here at Outernet!”
Kitty Scott-Claus (“Diana”)
“It’s absolutely exhausting being a homosexual in London in the summer. After Mighty Hoopla in Brockwell Park, Pride in London, and Sabrina Carpenter headlining the British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park, there is always something going on! Regent’s Park is so always so beautiful, especially in the summertime, and so nice to run around; it’s home to London Zoo too which is lowkey so fun. You can’t beat a cheeky night out in Soho; my favorite bars there are Freedom and G-A-Y and you obviously can’t end a night out without a trip to Heaven. Also, karaoke at Admiral Duncan is always such a highlight. Oh my god, you’d be a fool to miss out on Busy Lady Bingo with Sheila Simmons at The Duke of Wellington. Grasso in Soho is fab and lives up to the TikTok hype—I dream about the mozzarella sticks.”
Christopher Clegg (Director)
“One of my absolute favorite things to do in London in summer, even not in summer, is to get lost in the Royal Parks. Hyde Park
and Kensington Palace Gardens are some of my favorite walks in London, grab an ice cream and enjoy what London has to offer for free. I also love rummaging around vintage shops and markets. Head to Greenwich
for a treasure trove of fun stores. And keep an eye out for the London Queer Mart which pops up too with stalls from queer retailers which I discovered a few months back. It’s amazing!”
Diana the Mixtape runs in London July 29—August 10, then in Salford from August 19—21, 2025. For tickets and information, check out their website: https://thedianamixtape.com/.
