Interim director Joycelyn Labsan said, "I told [company employees] that they shouldn't worry about their jobs—that I plan on keeping the company as it is. I told them that I was sad [about Fredmann's departure], but that we need to continue."
After his resignation, Fredmann said that he might not permit the company to go ahead with his choreography for The Nutcracker this holiday season. James Ruh, Colorado Ballet co-chair, has said that the rights to the ballet belong to the company.
