Oscar nominee Colman Domingo has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix comedy The Four Seasons from writers Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield.

Domingo joins previously announced stars Fey and Steve Carell—the latter currently on Broadway in the revival of Uncle Vanya—in a series regular role. Production is scheduled to begin later this year.

Produced by Universal Television, The Four Seasons is based on the 1981 film of the same name that was written and directed by Alan Alda, produced by Martin Bregman, and starred Alda and Carol Burnett.

Domingo appeared as Mister in the movie musical adaptation of The Color Purple and received an Academy Award nomination for his work in the title role of the Netflix film Rustin. Domingo was Tony-nominated for his performance in The Scottsboro Boys, and he also picked up a Tony nomination as one of the producers of Fat Ham.

The Four Seasons is executive-produced by Fey, Lang Fisher, Wigfield, David Miner, Eric Gurian, and Jeff Richmond. Alda and Marissa Bregman will produce.
